Rec-Ignition

If you'd like to have energized and motivated employees or members, people who love what they are doing, and a thriving organization, then this might be the most important article you read...

Here's why:

Recognition and appreciation are not "once and done" events.  To build a recognition culture in your organization, you need to do it regularly and often.

If you remind yourself regularly to actively appreciate the behavior you want to see repeated, you'll change your habits and embrace recognition and appreciation in your daily routine. Recognition cultures are energized, proactive cultures. It all goes to the bottom line, doesn't it?

The only problem is... remembering to do it.  Right???  We all have great intentions to appreciate, recognize and reward people.  It just gets away from us sometimes.   Believe me, I know!

If only we had someone to remind us... Or a bell to go off in our heads... Or maybe even an electric shock (only kidding...)

Samples are at the bottom of this page.

Or---how about an email series created just for folks like you.  How would you like to receive brief reminders and ideas that will help you build a recognition culture in your organization? Our series of "e-minders" can do just that!

Now, we know you're probably skeptical. That's normal and healthy. Let us give you three good reasons we can back up what we claim:

Three Reasons To Believe What We Say

Reason one: These publications are produced  by The Egan Group, Inc., an energetic leadership coaching firm that has been brought in to conduct leadership and organizational development programs all over the country. The firm has produced over 100 issues of "The Leadership LiGHT," and over 20 leadership articles published in national magazines.

Reason two: It takes 21 days to change a habit.  Getting (r)e-minders twice a week will help you embrace public and private appreciation, which can become a habit that will benefit you and your organization.

Reason three: Your BRIEF (but regular) emails will remind you to do the "important but not urgent" recognition you really want to do, but sometimes don't get done.

Here is a summary of the
benefits you receive

1) BRIEF emails

You have only a few sentences to read

2) New ideas for ways to recognize people

You'll learn creative ways to encourage pro-active behavior

3) Reminders every 3 or 4 days

You won't have to remind yourself. Yessss!

4) An energized organization

Recognition is contagious; you can inject energy into your organization

5) Bottom line profits

It all adds to the bottom line...  Positive, energetic, proactive people can enjoy achieving results.

Why do we believe our "e-minders" can do this?

Let us explain.

Recognition cultures don't just happen. People make them. By recognizing people for their accomplishments.  Often.

Most managers think they recognize people enough; most employees think otherwise.  The answer? Do it more often!

How?  Let us remind you!

Just think... This  e-series could change the way you approach employee or member motivation forever!

Here is just one of the emails you'll receive:

Hi!

Lotteries for a monthly reward…

This idea can be used to encourage people to be more positive about tasks they don't “love” to do. Each time someone gets assigned the task, a ticket in his or her name gets placed in a jar. At the end of the month, the names of the people and the number of times they completed the task are announced, BEFORE the winner of a small prize is selected. It not only lets others know who has been doing these jobs, but reduces resistance to doing the job.

Recognition is soooo important, make it part of who you are…

Why you should register...

Motivated employees are happy employees

The more motivation the people in your organization have, the more energy and personal satisfaction they have.

Your organization will be energized

Motivation is contagious.  The more motivated your folks are, the more energy the entire organization will have.

The ability to motivate people is a necessary leadership skill

The better you are at motivating people, the more you will be recognized and rewarded as a leader.  It is a career necessity.

P.S. Remember, it's less work for you when your folks are truly motivated

P.P.S. Just think what changing a few things about yourself and your outward appreciation could do to the overall energy in your organization!

PPPS. Let us do the task of reminding you while giving you new ideas for recognition.

Recognition is a great motivator IF we remember to do it! This series of eminders will remind you about this important leadership action and even give you some new ideas! Enjoy!

*********************
An easy way to recognize or reward someone is to make a special effort to share the compliment. Instead of remembering to say thanks when you run into them in the elevator, make the phone call, or walk up to their desk, or send them an email. It tells them that what they did was special.

Can you think of anyone you can do this for? Do it today!

Have a rewarding day!
Marsha

Here's another!

Appreciating people is easy to do, if you JUST remember to do it. Here's an idea: set a specific time each day to sit back and take a few minutes to appreciate the accomplishments of others. I like to do it at the end of my work day. It is a good “wind-down” for me that
leaves the day on a positive note.

My sister does it with her children every night as she tucks them in bed. What a nice way to end the day!
