Are you Planning or Wishing?
by Marsha Egan, CPCU, ACC
Successful people have goals.
They also have plans to meet those goals.
That's how they achieve them!
"A goal without a plan is just a wish."
--Antoine de Saint-Exupery
10 SECOND REALITY CHECK
Do you have goals? (Good!)
Do you have plans to meet the goals?
Are they written down?
"Plans are only good intentions unless they immediately
degenerate into hard work."
--Peter Drucker
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Plans give goals a roadmap.
They break big goals in to smaller targets.
Plans make goals more easily achievable.
"Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and begin at
once, whether you ready or not, to put this plan into action."
--Napoleon Hill
SO WHAT WILL YOU DO DIFFERENTLY?
Set (or review) your very big goals.
Make realistic plans to achieve them.
Write them down, and review, AND act on them regularly!
"He who every morning plans the transaction of the day and
follows out that plan, carries a thread that will guide him
through the maze of the most busy life. But where no plan is
laid, where the disposal of time is surrendered merely to the
chance of incidence, chaos will soon reign."
--Victor Hugo
Enjoy planning your week, or even better, your 2006!
