Quarrel not at
all...
-by Marsha Egan,
CPCU, CPIW, ACC
Successful people avoid quarrels.
They favor respectful debates over angry discourse.
They get things done in a positive way.
"Quarrel not at all. No man resolved to make the most of
himself can spare time for personal contention."
--Abraham Lincoln
10 SECOND REALITY CHECK
When you disagree, do control your emotions?
Do you raise your voice to be "heard better?"
So you disagree with the issue rather than the person?
"In a heated argument we are apt to lose sight of the truth."
--Publilius Syrus
FOOD FOR THOUGHT...
Once your emotions heighten, you may think less clearly.
Raised voices become the focus rather than the message.
People will listen more when they are not feeling attacked.
"If men would consider not so much wherein they differ, as
wherein they agree, there would be far less of uncharitableness
and angry feeling." --Joseph Addison
SO WHAT WILL YOU DO DIFFERENTLY?
Control your emotions- every time.
Focus on your message, and hearing the other side.
Respect all opinions and all people.
"Think like a wise man but communicate in the language of the
people." --William Butler Yeats
Have a collaborative
week!
